First Steps to Reading & Writing – teaches students to:
• Recognise each letter of the alphabet
• Be able to say their (most common) sound in words
• Participate in basic conversation patterns
• More than 200 vocabulary words between 1 and 3 syllables long
• Building sound blending skills to read their first words
• Identify rhyming patterns in words
• Develop mind muscle connection that strives for simple handwriting skills
