A cute tracker toy made from bamboo. Young children place the car at the top and gleefully watch it roll back and forth down the tracks. It’s quite hypnotic and toy that they can spend a long time repeateing the movement just to see the progress. Even the Book & Toy staff were hooked when we test it!
It simulates the Montessori trackers, but this version has a cute 6 wheeled Vehiclesicle that gracefully curves around the tracks. This toy look so simple but has a huge contribution to a young child’s development.
The Vehiclesicle is placed at the top and they watch it roll down. This toy look so simple but makes a huge contribution to a young child’s development.
- Develop tracking skills by allowing the child to focus on a moving object. They will transition from moving thier whole head to just moving their eyes which prepares the eyes for reading as well as developing key ocular skills.
- Strengthens eye muscles. As the child focuses and tracks the Vehiclesicle (‘car’) for longer periods of time, they will strengthen their eye muscles.
- Develops coordination as the child coordinates the movement of both eyes as they focus and track the car down. Reaching for and grasping the car develops hand-eye coordination.
- Learn problem-solving skills. If the car doesn’t move or it falls out the child begins to work out why and try to fix it.
- Experience and thus start to learn the basic concepts of gravity as the dropped car will roll downwards.
- Teaches basic logical concepts of cause and effect when they drop the car into the frame the child will begin to predict what will happen next.
- Develops gross and fine motor skills as the child will grasp the car, squat, move up and down and reach out repeatedly.
